Come see some of the area’s finest poets compete for a slot on Rain City’s National Poetry Slam team – or if you are a poet, come and compete for a chance to move onto the next Semifinals (being held on January 10th!)

The National Poetry Slam is a team-based competition where poets all over America compete in both group and individual poetry pieces. Cheer on your favorite poets as they attempt to secure a spot in this national competition!

About Our Feature

Naa Akua is a queer writer, emcee, and poet. Intentionality, love, and encouragement is the focus of Akua‘s work. Their current first solo mixtape Odd(s) Balance  is a compilation riffing layered thoughts about love, internal reflection, and evolution and pays homage to the compilations producer, 9th Wonder. Raised in New York, Akua has performed  at various venues inside and outside the tri-state area. such as the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, the Bowery Poets Club, the Wow Cafe Theatre, The Shrine, and a slew of others.
