Rain City’s Grand Slam, Featuring Christopher Michael!

On April 25th at Hales Palladium, ten of Seattle’s top spoken word poets will face off in Rain City’s annual Grand Slam Championship. This literary showdown will decide who represents Rain City Poetry Slam at the 2018 National Poetry Slam in Chicago, IL. Poetic passion? Healing, humanity, and howling harangues? Daring declamations of derring-do? You’ll see all that and more!

The 2018 Grand Slam is hosted by Seattle spoken word legend Imani Sims and headlined by Christopher Michael, President of Poetry Slam Inc., and a 20-year Texas slam stalwart. Consistently one of the top-ranked poets in slam, Christopher has performed, competed, and coached at all levels of national competition.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for under 21/student. Tickets will be available at the door for $15 general admission, $7 for under 21/student.

About Our Feature

Christopher Michael has been rocking Texas mics for almost 20 years. Currently president of Poetry Slam Inc, Texas Poet Laureate nominee, National Poetry Slam finalist, has shared stages with Angie Stone & Eric Benet. He’s the founder of 310 Brown Street publishing, author and SlamMaster for Austin NeoSoul.
