About Our Feature

Rachel Greene’s poems have made many people cry, some laugh, and inspired some to have long, thoughtful conversations. Rachel is a founding member of Old Growth Poetry Collective. She represented Olympia Peoples’ Mic at the 2017 Women of the World Poetry Slam, and three times at the Cascadia Regional Poetry Slam. Rachel graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2015 where she worked as a peer writing tutor and was published in Evergreen’s literary journal, Vanishing Point. Rachel’s work touches the heart of social and environmental issues and she uses her poems as tools for advocacy. Her poetic activism was featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She is excited to be representing Olympia at the National Poetry Slam for the second time this August in Denver, CO.
